Abstract

The Student managed Investment Course (SMIC) is a unique program run by TAPMI which focuses on teaching students how to implement the learnings of portfolio management and valuation of stocks. Students are expected to participa te in the stock selection process and cover different industry sectors and prepare detailed research report on the same. The team was given a corpus of INR 1,25,000 to invest in the common equity for a time horizon of 5 months. The teams are expected to invest the same in a list of pre-approved stocks. The fund would then be liquidated in the first week of March and the entire proceeds after paying income tax would be transferred back to TAPMI
