Abstract

Team Stockers was guided by the philosophy to invest in fundamentally strong assets. Technical Analysis was utilized to determine entry and exit points. The team was given a corpus of INR 1,50,000 to invest in common equity for a time horizon of 5 months. Investing and trading in commodities, derivatives, bond market, foreign exchange and short-selling was restricted. Investments in common equity was allowed. The market capital of Rs. 300 crores in each stock was the minimum limit for our investment. Firstly, the investment began with the determination of the group risk profile and the investment philosophy. It was followed by the benchmark selection of NSE 500. The next step that we took for shortlisting the sectors and the stocks which we wanted to invest in was to go through the performance indicators through fundamental analysis. From this methodology, we would arrive at the potential buy candidates. For this, key ratios were used, which are Market Capitalisation, Return on Equity, Return on Capital Employed, Cash flow from Operations and Profitability ratios. Technical analysis was used mainly to monitor the stock movements and take appropriate actions.
